Joseph Campbell
Joseph Campbell began his career in 1934 as an instructor at Sarah Lawrence College, where he taught for almost forty years, and where the Joseph Campbell Chair in Comparative Mythology was established in his honor. He is the author of numerous books on myth and society, including the best-selling Myths to Live By (review or buy). The Power of Myth
Thou Art That (review or buy) is a collection of essays and lectures that focus on the Judeo-Christian tradition, its symbols and metaphors, and how our culture often interprets (or misinterprets) them. Joseph Campbell ranges from storytelling to insightful comparative scholarship. Also included in the book is Dr. Kennedy's Easter 1979 interview with Campbell from The New York Times Magazine. |
